Following a detailed risk assessment and implementation of a COVID-19 prevention plan, dental offices in California resumed preventive and deferred treatments as of June and July 2020.
In accordance with guidance from the California Department of Public Health and the American Dental Association, dentistry is considered essential health care service due to “its role in evaluating, diagnosing, preventing and treating oral diseases, which can affect systemic health” and dental teams remain vigilant in best safety practices.
“Patients and visitors are no longer required to wear face masks in dental offices, hospitals, physicians’ offices and other indoor health care and high-risk settings in California as of April 3, 2023 per guidance from the state Department of Public Health. The new guidance permits facilities to develop mask policies specific to the needs. Patients, visitors and nonclinical workers always have the option to wear a face mask or respirator and cannot be prevented from doing so. California Department of Public Health recommends that any individual with respiratory symptoms, such as a cough, wear a mask when around others”
In abundance of caution and to ensure a safe environment for all our patients and the team at Mi Dental, we are limiting our treatment only by appointments, and walk-ins on a case by case basis. We are limiting patient number per day and days of appointments per week.
